TSCI.pngEquity Plot

When you click on any point defining the surface of a tradescape plot, an equity plot is displayed:

Lower Plot

The Y axis of the equity plot is a graph of the price data.

8078.png The Show Error Bars option in the graph toolbar toggles on and off a high-low band for each bar. This is the default.

8052.png The Graph Point Format option in the graph toolbar offers a means to color by the bar-to-bar direction of movement. This is the default.

8910.png The state of the plot is saved across sessions by closing the dialog with the OK button.

Upper Plot - Tradescape Evaluation

For a standard tradescape point as opposed to a user-defined signal plotted atop the tradescape, the Y2 axis of the equity plot will contain two curves.

The equity plot for the underlying buy and hold is drawn as a reference. For the non page-white color schemes, this will be shown in a color that is white by default. Shown in this same color will be a title containing the Buy-Hold performance metrics. The color can be changed by assigning a custom color to Component 1 in the Graph Colors option.

8087.png The Toggle Display of Reference Data can be used to hide this underlying reference curve.

8614.png The Customize Titles for Equity Plots option allows individual titles to be toggled on and off. If the underlying title is turned off, its curve will not be drawn.

The equity plot for the EM or tradescape surface will always be shown. The plot will be cyan by default for the non page-white color schemes. Shown in this same color is a title containing the performance metrics from the EM trading signal represented by the selected point in the tradescape. This color can be changed by assigning a custom color to Points <1 SD in the Graph Colors option.

The mouse cursor will highlight the actual equity value and the corresponding price in the lower plot. The date (and time, if intraday bars) will also be displayed at the mouse cursor when it is on a point in either curve.

Upper Plot - Signal Evaluation

If a user-defined signal was selected in the tradescape plot, the Y2 axis of the equity plot will contain three curves.

The equity plot for the EM or tradescape surface is always drawn as a reference. For the non page-white color schemes, this will be shown in a color that is yellow default. Shown in this same color will be a title containing the EM or tradescape signal metrics. The color can be changed by assigning a custom color to Component 2 in the Graph Colors option.

8087.png The Toggle Display of Reference Data can be used to hide these two reference curves.

8614.png The Customize Titles for Equity Plots option allows individual titles to be toggled on and off. If the underlying title is turned off, its curve will not be drawn. Similarly, if the tradescape signal is turned off, it will not be plotted.

The equity plot for the user-defined signal will always be shown. The plot will be cyan by default for the non page-white color schemes. Shown in this same color is a title containing the performance metrics from the user-defined trading signal selected in the tradescape plot.

Plot Titles

8614.png The Customize Titles for Equity Plots option will allow the selection of the metrics shown in the titles and which titles are to be displayed.
